How to make Ice Lanterns for the holidays

Ice lanterns are a beautiful and easy winter celebration activity. Use them to decorate your porch as guest visit on Christmas eve or let them light the table for your Winter Solstice feast.

First: Gather your supplies! you can freeze all sorts of natural treasures , into these lanterns...  cranberries, pinecones, twigs, leaves, boughs, shells, citrus slices 

These are great activities to do with a kids of all ages! ...a fun reason to get outside in the winter

Next: Find some containers.  Varying sized plastic food containers work well as long as they sit inside each other.

Leave your lanterns outside in the cold to freeze overnight.   Once frozen solid, carefully remove them from the moulds.

When you're ready to put candles in them remember to place the ice lanterns on a plate that will catch melting water... or you might have a wet table!
